Franklin Community Players - Host 80’s Dance Party as a Benefit for John Thompson

Saturday July 28, 2018

The Franklin Community Players announced it is hosting an 80’s-Themed Dance Party as a benefit for John Thompson’s medical expenses on Saturday, July 28, 2018 from 6 to 9 pm at the Lavonia Cultural Center. John is suffering from lymphoma, going through kidney dialysis three times a week and has undergone multiple surgeries.

The dance party is a family-friendly event. Prizes will be awarded for the best 80’s dance moves and best 80’s attire. Admission is free, but people attending are encouraged to give donations at the door. BBQ plates, sweet treats and beverages will be available for sale to help raise additional funds.

“We hope everyone in the area will join in this opportunity to have some fun, listen or dance to great music from the 80’s and help raise money for John Thompson,” said FCP President Valicia Miller. “Kit and John have always supported the local theatre community, and the Franklin Community Players are happy to help with this worthwhile event. After all, isn’t that what community is all about?”
